Carers provide older people with the gift of independence and being able to remain living in their own communities and homes for longer. They are passionate, patient and have hearts of gold. So when a carer cannot be there, Cultura provides respite services that ensure older people feel right at home.
Where is this respite located?
Cultura’s respite care is the perfect option when a carer is on leave or needs to recharge. We have two individual rooms available for short-term respite care, which allow carers up to eight weeks of respite per year.
Bella Chara - supported residential service
Bella Chara, Cultura’s supported residential service, offers beautiful respite rooms with private ensuites, balconies and around the clock care provided by professional staff. Â
Respite residents are warmly welcomed into the Cultura community and can participate in the exciting wellbeing program, while taking advantage of the wonderful facilities available in the North Geelong precinct.Â
For regular respite residents, a stay at Cultura provides a welcome opportunity to catch up with friends and become familiar with Cultura should more permanent care be required in the future.
Centre-based Day Respite- Healthy Living Centre
Our Centre-based day respite programs are for older community members that are supported by a carer and eligible to receive support through the Commonwealth Home Support Program(CHSP), Home Care Packages (HCP) and Home and Community Care Program for Younger People (HACC PYP).
Our programs run Monday to Thursday with half and full day options. A healthy morning tea and lunch are provided. Transport availability determined by client funding.
Centre-based Respite programs promote and support  you to be active, independent and engaged, keeping you at home as long as possible. Our qualified and experienced staff design and coordinate programs focused on your likes and interests.
Our Programs can include:
- Mind-Body-Moves Gentle Chair Based exercise program  Monday, Tuesday and Thursday.
- Outings
- Art and Craft
- Social Engagement
- Support for carers
The options are endless and guided by you.
