Palliative Care in Geelong
When the time is near to leave this life, whether by terminal illness or old age, many people prefer to pass away in their own home, on their terms, surrounded by family. Cultura provides an in-home palliative care service funded by the Hospice Foundation Geelong, for all local residents regardless of age, culture or circumstances.
This service is a defining passion for Cultura. We know the positive difference home-based palliative care can make to not only the individual, but also the family and loved ones involved. The care, compassion and professionalism of our palliative care staff will ensure that your loved one is cared for with dignity and relief from physical and mental stresses during this time.
Our personal approach to palliative care
At such a personal time, Cultura can provide a variety of palliative care services to best support the individual needs of your loved one and your family.
Care options range from practical support such as meal preparation, running errands, and having someone to simply sit with, to hands-on care such as overnight stays where the carer will stay awake throughout the night to ensure you and your family can get some rest. The aim of our palliative care is that you tell us what you need, and we will listen and try to make it happen.
And while we always follow OH&S guidelines, we do so in an empathetic way to ensure that the person we care for is given the same respect and dignity that we would expect our own family members, or ourselves, to receive.
