Settlement Engagement and Transition Support (SETS)

Settlement Services

Settlement Engagement and Transition Support (SETS) is a flexible program that focuses on providing information and referral services to newly arrived community members living in Geelong, on as as-needed basis.

For refugee and humanitarian entrants, SETS builds upon the foundation services provided by the Humanitarian Settlement Program (HSP).

Our experienced Case Managers work closely with local service providers and are well equipped to provide SETS participants with information and referrals that are best suited to their individual and cultural needs.

Cultura assists hundreds of newly arrived community members to access services in Geelong every year.

Who is eligible?

  • Permanent residents (refugees) who have arrived in the past five years as humanitarian entrants.
  • Family stream migrants with low English language proficiency.
  • Communities that require assistance to develop their capacity to organise, plan and advocate for services to meet their needs.
  • Dependents of skilled migrants, who have a low English language proficiency.

Participants can access the SETS within their first 5 years arrival.

What does the program do?

SETS focuses on providing participants with information and referrals to service providers that align with their individual and cultural needs.

Cultura works in collaboration with many employers and local service providers to ensure the needs and experiences of culturally and linguistically diverse community members are into consideration when planning and delivering services.

Where is SETS offered?

This SETS is offered in Geelong and Colac.

Funding provider:

The HSP program is funded by the Commonwealth Department of Social Services.
