Team Leader, Financial Inclusion Program

MACS and Diversitat have been serving the Geelong community for more than 40 years with a focus on our multicultural communities. As the new entity, Cultura operates across various sites delivering a range of services including residential aged care, home care and aged support services, settlement, training and education, financial counselling and disability support. We also operate a range of social enterprises including The Pulse community radio and various community events including the popular Pako Festa.

The Role:

The Financial Inclusion Program Team Leader role is responsible for providing organisational line management and support to financial counsellors and a Tenancy Assistance and Advocacy Program (TAAP) worker. The successful applicant will also be responsible for leading the enhancement of practice standards across both program areas.

This position will also ensure that the MARAM guidelines and Financial Counselling Code of Practice are followed in daily practice and that all funding and legislative requirements are met in relation to the performance of both designated program areas they are responsible for.

About You:

• Promote team wellbeing by developing and maintaining a culture of open communication;
• Ensure Financial Counsellors and the TAAP Worker maintain clear and concise notes in IRIS;
• Lead team activities, including coordinating allocation and practice meetings and other activities focused on strengthening service delivery and the professional development of staff;
• Provide regular supervision to designated staff;
• Work collaboratively with the General Manager, Settlement and Community Support and program staff to deliver on strategic and operational outcomes;
• Take a lead role in the finalisation of quarterly reporting data and associated reports and ensure these are uploaded to the CAV portal in a timely manner;
• Diploma of Financial Counselling;
• Current registration with FCRC;
• Experience providing supervision to staff;
• Ability to collect and analyse data;
• Excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills, including an ability to quickly build rapport with staff and other stakeholders;
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team;
• Proven capacity to represent the service appropriately in a range of forums, including professional bodies, relevant external agencies and working groups;
• Demonstrated ability to build and maintain a network of contacts within Cultura, financial counselling and TAAP networks and with external agencies.
