MACS and Diversitat have been serving the Geelong community for more than 40 years with a focus on our multicultural communities. As the new entity, Cultura operates across various sites delivering a range of services including residential aged care, home care and aged support services, settlement, training and education, financial counselling and disability support. We also operate a range of social enterprises including The Pulse community radio and various community events including the popular Pako Festa.

Cultura also offers an extremely generous salary packaging benefit, giving staff the opportunity to salary package up to $18,550 per annum of their pre-tax yearly income.

The Role:

The Senior Settlement Support Worker have primary responsibility for the overall coordination of the settlement support component of the CSP program, including supervision of the settlement support workers and overall oversight of practice and administrative processes in relation to service delivery. In addition to this, the role will hold responsibility for maintaining and strengthening stakeholder relationships within CSP settlement support.

This position will be contracted on maximum-term full-time basis until 30 June 2025.

About You:

  • Maintain the arrivals checklist in conjunction with IOM, Department of Home Affairs, the visa applicant and sponsor;
  • Coordinate pre-arrival travel plans, such as assisting with private or IOM travel arrangements, advise on exit permits from host country and coordinate pick up of immicards from IOM or Embassy;
  • Supervise the preparation and implementation of the CSP Settlement Plan prepared by Settlement Support, ensuring that all clients’ needs are identified and appropriate linkage made to services;
  • Inspect potential employment sites of applicants to assess the appropriates of the employment;
  • Upon arrival, conduct home visits with a Settlement Support Worker, to ensure that supporters’ home can cater for additional family members, and that the support has the ability to undertake the tasks delegated to them for 12 months;
  • Day to day supervision and coordination of tasks for Settlement Support Workers;
  • Prepare monthly arrival and settlement report for the Manager, Migration Services;
  • Bachelor Degree in any social or community services field.
