MACS and Diversitat have been serving the Geelong community for more than 40 years with a focus on our multicultural communities. As the new entity, Cultura operates across various sites delivering a range of services including residential aged care, home care and aged support services, settlement, training and education, financial counselling and disability support. We also operate a range of social enterprises including The Pulse community radio and various community events including the popular Pako Festa.

Cultura also offers an extremely generous salary packaging benefit, giving staff the opportunity to salary package up to $18,550 per annum of their pre-tax yearly income.

The Role:

The Manager, Learning & Development (L&D) will play an important role in contributing to the delivery of the purpose and vision of Cultura, leading a high-performing team, and building the capacity of the workforce of the organisation through the successful implementation of this new function. This role will be a key member of the P&C team and a member of the Leadership Team of Cultura. The Manager, L&D will report to the General Manager, People & Culture.

Important elements of the role include initiating and implementing strategies to meet operating objectives of the organisation, development policies, developing and delivering training where necessary and periodic reporting to the Executive Management Team.

The Manager, L&D will lead a small team in delivering customer-centric services to a high standard and coordinating the continual improvement of the area’s systems and processes. The role will require a hands-on approach and be able to provide guidance and assistance to the team, and wider organisation, in operational processes and problem solving.

This position will be contracted on permanent full-time basis.

About You:

  • Provide leadership to the direct reports including the oversight and ongoing management of key performance indicators and outputs of the L&D department.
  • Oversee the professional and efficient delivery of L&D activities including induction, mandatory training and ongoing professional development of Cultura’s employees
  • Conduct a Training Needs Analysis across Cultura to identify skills gaps which can feed into L&D plans.
  • Develop an annual organisational calendar based on agreed mandatory skills and qualifications.
  • Manage the ongoing development of Cultura’s Cultural Awareness Training (CAT) program.
  • Ensure that the CAT program meets budget and costs are monitored as required.
  • Work closely with P&C colleagues in developing, and contributing to, operational strategic plans as part of the P&C Leadership Team.
  • Formal training and tertiary qualifications in Learning & Development, Human Resources, or a related discipline.
  • A Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.
  • Demonstrated experience leading the provision of L&D function in a complex environment.
